It's with enthusiasm, excitement and much pride that a multidisciplinary team of people, passionate about reading, technology, creativity and teaching, have pooled their talents to create a totally new literary experience that is multilingual, richly varied and unique to Québec. That project is Editiö!
Founded in July 2013, the publishing house Editiö has made it its mission to devise and publish children's stories in different forms, for different audiences, combining the magic of text, image, sound and interactivity with the reader or narrator.
Editiö's hallmark is that its stories are unique, interactive and digital. Its vision and editorial expertise guarantee the value and quality of the books published, and the variety of topics covered will appeal to diverse market sectors.
The stories are the basis for the construction of an animated and dynamic showcase supported by graphic elements that are attractive and stimulating for young people. As they listen (hearing), read the story (visualization) and interact, children will enjoy a truly active literary experience. As the story unfolds, the characters and places come alive in the imaginations of the children, sparking a desire for information or triggering a creative activity.
Diane Pageau's project took off after years of thought and research. The project is the fruit of an idea that emerged spontaneously from the fact that the publishing world was stagnating, and from the vision of the way markets and audiences would evolve in the future.
Editiö is the happy result of the combination of pedagogy, publishing know-how, technology, marketing and distribution. Its uniqueness lies in the combined expertise and experience of three seasoned entrepreneurs from the worlds of technology, publishing, techno-pedagogy, and marketing training and communications:
Editiö uses the trustworthy expertise and technical skills of the professional and dynamic NTEO team to push back the limits of interactivity and of the technical applications that serve information and pedagogy.
The younger generation is also involved in Editiö. Diane Pageau wanted her children, Paul-Émile and Laëtitia (owners of GMarketing), on board from the start, involving them in every aspect of managing the project but also in writing and producing the books and promotional materials. Their presence opens a window on both the iGeneration and Generation Y. For example, Paul-Émile is writing the Editiö stories (the character of that name), and will guide readers as they discover new stories and experiences.
